About Us
| |

The Doolin Market first opened
it's doors in June 2008.
For anyone who hasn’t
come to the market yet, it happens every Saturday from June
until the end of August at The Russell Community Centre. Opening
hours are 10 am until 4 pm.
Aims of the Doolin Saturday Market and Craft Fair
-
Provide a
place for local small producers to sell hand-produced goods
on a weekly basis, including crafts, produce, and artisan
food products.
-
Promote
traditional and hand-made craft locally.
-
Provide a
source of fresh produce and food products in Doolin, which
is not currently served by a supermarket or other major food
market.
-
Encourage
community interaction by providing an enjoyable daytime
activity in a pleasant atmosphere for local people and
visitors alike.
The market is a great
stop to incorporate into a low-cost day out to North Clare.
There is plenty of parking and a playground to appease the less
patient travelling companions. If the weather is fine,
there are some nice grassy spots for a picnic—which can be
supplied by our vendors. When the weather is bad, it is
still a good destination, as we have an average of 20 stalls
indoors, out of the rain. We have a range of high quality
hand made crafts including Jewellery, Ceramics, Creams, Wood
turning, Knitted sewn and crochet items such as bags, baby
clothes and adult ware, photography and painting alongside
delicious foods, baked goods, organic veg and free range eggs!
Feedback from our regular visitors over the last couple of years
has been that the Doolin Market is unique for its indoor café,
with tables provided for a good gossip over a cup of tea or
coffee. We also host stalls that serve up prepared hot and cold food at
very reasonable prices making it a perfect spot for a delicious
lunch.
